Alessandro Colafelice is a textile artist based in Italy. He graduated at the AAM Academy of Architecture of Mendrisio, where he embarked on a research path increasingly focused on the relationship between the human and non-human, with particular interest in the interface between human beings and natural elements.
After his studies he developed his artistic practice Deglet Nour with the aim to deploy fibre as a medium, both for the crafting of finite artefacts and for the process itself as a form of contemplation and communication. The yarn becomes a means of investigation of leaps in scale and deep connection with the elements in dialogue.
He develops wearable prototypes as well as figurative artworks, expanding towards experiments in landart and artistic installations.
